One more before bed

I photographed this family last year and was so excited when they contacted me again for family pictures. I knew Morris Avenue would be perfect for them. You guys are great! Hope I see you again next year.

Crazy Lady

I'm sure several people walked by and wondered why I was lying on the ground at botanical gardens. You gotta do what you gotta do though. I've envisioned this shot for a looooong time and couldn't find a hill to make it work. Well, this day I found it. I love this shot. The vivid colors are just amazing! The other shot is too cute if you know the story. W's father is a pilot and everytime he hears a plane, he looks up thinking its his daddy.

So Handsome

Isn't this little guy just a looker? He's so handsome! What girl will be able to resist those blonde locks?

All she wrote

My trusty little big camera served me wonderfully for a long time. One fateful day though, enough was enough. I clicked the shutter for one last image and my camera became possessed. CLICK-CLICK-CLICK-CLICK it was going nuts! I have no idea what would cause that (hoping that the Canon repair center does though!) but it wasn't good. So, while it was a very traumatic few hours of my life, all is well. I bought a new camera that is perfection! I will say that Old Faithful went out with a bang. These were some of the last images taken with it.

While I'm thinking about it

This morning we stopped at Jacks to grab some breakfast. When I went to hand the lady my debit card, she told me that the man in front of us bought our breakfast and said Happy Thanksgiving. How nice was that? So, to pay it forward, I bought breakfast for the lady in the car behind us. So, if you ever have a few bucks to spare, pick up the tab for the car behind you. His $3.00 made me smile and got my day started off great!

Super duper cute!

I was so fortunate to meet this family on Saturday. They are so sweet and full of love and so super duper cute! What a triple threat. I could have photographed them all day long, well as long as I had feeling in my fingertips from the freezing cold. I want to give a shout out to all the outdoor photographers in the North. My hats off to you. I would never make it. I'd hate to be this mama and have to narrow down 70 proofs. Maybe Santa will be good to her this year and get all her prints for her :)

The G's get best dressed!

This family knows how to coordinate for a family picture. I love it. What a good lookin' bunch they are.

Little Man

This is one of my favorite little kidlets. I just adore him and his mommy. They are both just too precious. Hudson will be a big brother soon. I can't wait to Mr. Owen too.

Love it or hate it?

I took this picture and compositionally it was a wreck. It was just odd so I decided to really funk it up a little bit and do a really tight crop of, well, you see it. Do you love it or hate it?

Red & Blue.... No, red & green!

While the rest of the world is talking blue and red and this election hubaloo today, I'm thinking red and green! As the holiday season inches closer and closer I am having a ball taking family portraits that will surely show up on christmas cards around the country in just a few weeks!

Now, this is your chance to make someone's christmas a little bit brighter! I am inviting you to nominate a family for a free portrait session! It can be engagement portraits, just for fun portraits, newborns, maternity or family portraits! Use your imagination!

Here's how you get involved- send me an email to kristy@kristyevansphotography.com telling me who you'd like to nominate and why by November 30th. Maybe the economy isn't treating them so nice, maybe they finally had the baby they hoped for so long, or maybe they just make you smile bigger than anyone else you know- the reason is up to you! The whole process will be totally anonymous and you will have the fun role of gifting them a free session with me and a $100.00 gift certificate.

So, submit your nomination by the 30th! Make your submission worth reading and good luck! The winner will be selected by a panel of 5 judges (Ok that sounded so Miss America, but anyway!) Merry (almost) Christmas to all!

The photographers dream

This little one is Heavenly! She always has the cutest outfits, the spunkiest personality and knows how to work a camera! It was my pleasure once again.

Another Birthday Baby

It seems like every other session I do is for a kidlet celebrating their first birthday. I just love my little pink tutu for these sessions.

Birthday Princess

I was so happy to do this session for one of my best buds from work. I love this little kid to pieces. She's just so darn sweet and those dark brown eyes just make you melt. Happy Birthday Miss M.

Miss Eagle

There images were from a last minute photo shoot this weekend for a beautiful young lady entering the Miss Eagle pageant. Isn't she a knock-out? Good luck in the pageant, M!

Picture day with a twist

I've been a bad blogger! I'm trying to get caught up on my blog posts so my posts won't be quite so wordy, or on time, until I get caught up! Lord have mercy on me! Please let me make it through another holiday season!

Cupcake Cutie

I love this little kid more than life itself! She is so full of life and energy. Kylie-Bug will soon be turning one so we had to get a few studio images to commemmorate. And who can turn one without the cake smashing pictures?

My love-hate relationship with the internet.

I was informed today that my email server has been blocking emails to me from both Roadrunner (bham.rr.com) and Bellsouth (bellsouth.net) servers for about 2 weeks. If you have tried corresponding with me during that time and I haven't replied, my apologies. The issue has been resolved now. I'm hoping that I have gotten in contact with everyone but if not, please e-mail me back if you'd like.
Hope everyone is enjoying this little bit of cooler weather we are having this week! I sure am!

It's my birthday! It's my birthday!

Ok, so actually it was Saturday, but I can still celebrate, right? I love birthdays, almost as much as Christmas. In the spirit of giving, I'm going to give a free $50.00 gift certificate to the first person booking a session to commemorate a birthday. So, if your child's birthday is coming up, there is no better time to schedule those birthday portraits now and save 50 bucks! And, just because I love Morris Avenue, schedule the session on Morris Avenue and I'll make it $75 in free prints!

Look out Barbie!

This is Miss Anna Leigh and her little sis Meghan. I photographed them several weeks ago and in the midst of my craziness didn't post any favorites on the blog. I was sorting through the nine bazillion images on my hard drive and ran across these again. I couldn't resist posting them. Aren't they dolls?

Saaweeeet!

Not to talk politics or anything, but oh happy day! I received my stimulus check today! The way I see it, I got $1,500.00 for checking my mail. It doesn't get much better than that! What to buy? What to buy? Maybe a new lens. Maybe some new funky colored backdrops... The possibilities are endless. So, thank ya Mr. Dubya! And thanks to you too. I'm helping stimulate the economy too. Book a session by
July 4th and receive the entire session fee as a credit to your order! That is a $50.00 savings.

Be on the look out too! My birthday is July 5th and I'll be doing a birthday special soon too.

If I had $1 for all his smiles

I'd be rich. This is Baby Beckett who I also got to meet on Friday. He was the happiest little guy I've ever met. His big brother Caid took some warming up but nothing a fudge pop couldn't take care of.

Sweetheart

This is Miss Brooke. I got to meet her last Friday. She is such a sweet and gentle child. That, paired with the fact that she is absolutely gorgeous made my job super easy.
