Visitors and Statcounter
I'm interested in seeing how many visits I get each day, and well, since you people don't leave comments, I had to round up a few widgets to do it for me. So, because I'll be tickled as a kid in a candy store when I reach milestones, I'm going to do a freebie each time I make it to 250, 500, 750 and 1000 hits. Each 1000 will have an even bigger contest/prize that day. So, lets see just how fast they add up. Oh, and leave me a love note every now and then too!

You might see a shadow behind me.
I am mentoring an old friend of mine for a while so you might see a side kick with me at your session. Rachael is still living in the dark ages, ahem, filmie, but I'm trying to convince her to go digital. I hope you got some great shots today Rachael! I'll do my grading later-- as soon as your film gets developed! Heehee, just teasing you!
Lainey-Lou
Whew, I'm exhausted! This little ball of energy gave me a run for my money today. Believe it or not, I love the challenge of getting the attention of a busy body so I had a great time today working with Miss Lainey. Check her out... Could a kid have more perfect hair, seriously? I hope you enjoy these few previews!
I've tried over and over to capture sunflare and I finally did it today. Not the best portrait in the world but I was really glad to capture the glow of the sun around her.

Some Changes
I have decided that until the Fall, I am not going to be accepting any more portrait parties through the Summer. I am definitely going to do the parties that are already scheduled so no worries there. I just want to focus more on custom sessions and more so than that, my family. I love parties! I get to meet so many new people and make so many new friends but they are also very time consuming. My family will always be most important to me and I need to take a little time off from parties to put them back first in my life.
I am completely booked through May at this time. If you would like to schedule a session during the summer, please contact me as soon as possible. I have limited availability through August.
I will open up my Fall calendar in July and will then begin accepting sessions for September through December. I will be only doing 2 parties a month during September-November so if you want to host a Fall party, get in touch with me in July. Full sessions will still be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays through November 21st. Sessions after that time will not be guaranteed for Christmas delivery.
I thank you for your continued support. I look forward to working with you!

When you really look around
you can really find neat things in the crummiest of places. I wanted something different for this session so we headed to downtown Birmingham to Morris Avenue. The brick paved streets are lined with gorgeous architecture, color and texture, and peanut shells too. The Peanut Depot is apparently a little Birmingham hidden treasure that's down there too. Mr. Too Rotten and far to used to the camera was hamming it up for me, or maybe it was because my dad was there with us. Regardless, I got some shots that are totally different from anything I have ever taken and I'm loving it. Because I love it so much, I'm going to offered 25% off or prints to the first person who books a new Urban Experience Session.
Wouldn't you know that the last picture I took is my very favorite and I missed the focus completely?? Arg...

Sweet Lily
I had the pleasure of meeting Lily and her parents at Botanical Gardens today. What a greay day for pictures. Spring has definately sprung there! I was beginning to think that Lily's mom and I share the same brain. On 4-5 different occasions we said/thought the exact same thing at the same time. It was a little bit bizzare but you know what they say, brilliant minds think alike. Lily will soon be big sister so this will be her last portait without her baby sister in the picture! I'm so glad that I could capture her for them. I hope you love these teasers! Have a great Easter guys!

It feels good...
to be back outdoors photographing again. I was a bit apprehensive having my first outdoor session of the year yesterday. I have been working indoors for so long and it felt great to be back outside again. The gardens were gorgeous. The weather was gorgeous. Miss Rylee is gorgeous. She was a bit timid at first, which is expected. Once she warmed up to me though, we had a great time! She is just too cute and sassy for words. I am in love with her gallery (that can be found on my website). I am rarely awed with 50 images from the same gallery but I absolutely love these. The tulips should be there until April 15th so if your thinking about a session, now is the time. Thanks for looking and until next time...

Miss B Graduates
Little Miss Brynlea joined my Watch Me Grow plan 1 year ago and I have had the priveledge of photographing her every 3 months since her birth. She has been such a delight. Brynlea is almost 1 and could give any Nascar driver a run for their money as fast as she crawls. She wasn't too into being photographed but I'm glad that we caught a few good ones. Nikki, thank you for being so great to work with this year. Ya'll, she is one of those people that just have everything together and I am so thankful for that. Happy Birthday Brynlea!

A lesson learned
My uncle passed away last week. We went to the beach via Yazoo City for his funeral on Friday. My dad asked me to make a DVD slideshow of pictures of my uncle to show. So, we had Patti, my aunt to get me as many pictures as she could. Keep in mind that they have only been married maybe 3 years, I don't even think that long. Well, she shows up with about 700 pictures. She didn't have time to scan the other 4,000. Some of the pictures were silly, some were sweet, some were off color, some were completely out of focus and a technical nightmare. You know what though? They were all real. They were all exactly as I remember my crazy Uncle Donnie. I am so thankful that Patti has those pictures for us to remember him. What did I learn? I need to take more candid, real pictures. A silly expression trumps perfect focus any day. So, to all of you out there in blogland, take the time to be in the picture rather than behind the camera every now and again. Be silly. Have fun. Someday, your friends and family will sit around a table very thankful to have them.
So, here we are on the beach, 1/2 cut off, with the camera as far out as my arm would reach.

Back from vacation
We just got back in from the weekend at the beach. We had a wonderful time, relaxing, sleeping and relaxing some more. While I am so thankful for the weekend off, I am really excited about getting back to work. I'm feeling refreshed and energized and ready for the bust upcoming months. I'm going to share a few photos that I took with our little point and shoot camera. I promised myself that I wouldn't drag out my big honkin' camera so I had to do the best with what I had. Doesn't it just look gorgeous and warm? WRONG! It was about 40 Friday night with what felt like 100MPH winds. I can't wait until May when I go back and hopefully it will be warm!
